Not every shipment is taxed on import. Many countries have a de minimis threshold, under which shipments are cleared without incurring customs duties or taxes. However, the threshold varies from country to country and each threshold is based on local currency. In addition, some countries don’t have a de minimis rule, so everything gets taxed; other countries don’t have customs duties, so nothing gets taxed. Furthermore, de minimis thresholds for duty and import tax can vary in some countries, therefore shipments can be subject to one tariff but not another.

To help you figure out what duties and taxes apply where, take a look at the de minimis table on below link:

What if my item is lost in the mail?
If the customers order is lost in the post/mail, the customer has a 90 day window from delivery (sending) date to inform the retailer. Anything after this time will not be refunded.

Why is my parcel stuck in transit?
Items will not be refunded while the item/items are showing "in transit" on the tracking page. We (HOMO London) are not responsible or liable for any delays that maybe be caused while shipping.

What does the status “parcel stuck in transit” means? It can be literal status or package just has not moved in a long while. Many times, when this happens, you won’t see a new update in the tracking system.

What "in transit" means? When your shipment is in transit, it means the courier company picked the parcel up and your shipment is on its way to the delivery address. The package stays in transit until the driver/postman delivers it.

When a parcel is stuck in transit it means that the package is no longer progressing towards its destination and it is either kept in one of the courier company’s depots for further checks or stuck in customs.

Why is my package stuck in customs?
If your item is selected by customs for inspection with processing time between 1-7+ weeks.

Contact the courier with the tracking information provided, find out if there are outstanding taxes you owe to pay. Many countries impose taxes on shipments over a certain value, (see above) if these taxes are payable on your shipment it will be held for a short time until the outstanding balance is paid, if this is not paid it will be returned back to us.

Often shipments are held up in customs to check that the contents of the package and the value of the goods were declared accurately. There is little that can be done to stop or speed up these random checks and attempts to such may just be a waste of time. If your shipment is sent via the postal system, waiting is often the best option, as tracking is notoriously unreliable and often it’s better to just be patient. Your shipment will come eventually, but it might take some time. Keeping calm is part of the battle, try not to stress too much about the delays. Sometimes the package tracking can be inaccurate, packages can disappear somewhere and reappear elsewhere, hold on, it will come. Fortunately, the postal system is great when it comes to customs – your shipment will be automatically cleared and released, you just need to wait and pay any payable taxes if you’re approached, it is a very easy process but also very slow.
